MEET SHAWN SNOW

A Life of Service

At 16 years old, living in Thibodaux, I knew I wanted to serve. My life had been dedicated to serving others as I followed the footsteps of my dad, David Snow.

I wasn’t old enough to join the military, but I had my sights set on serving. At 17, with my parents’ permission, I was able to enlist. I was honored as the Soldier of the Cycle at my basic training graduation, an honor given to the top soldier who exhibits leadership and discipline.

Within two years, I was sent to Iraq. I spent 18 months deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, from early 2006 until late 2007.

After returning home, I served as a General Manager at Wendy’s. After a short time there, I decided to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Service, Leadership, and Accountability: The Foundation of My Commitment to Thibodaux

18 YEARS SERVING THIBODAUX

I began my career as a police officer at Nicholls State University in 2008. In 2009, I joined the City of Thibodaux, where I continued as a police officer. In 2022, I moved to the Thibodaux City Marshal’s Office, where I currently serve.

FAITH, FAMILY &
COMMUNITY SERVICE

In my personal life, I am married to Jody Snow, and we have four children: Chloee, Mason, Luke, and Elliot.

Jody and I both serve at our local church, First Baptist Church of Thibodaux. I serve as a Deacon, Building and Grounds Coordinator, and Security Team Leader. Please read the statement of support from my Pastor, Kevin Celestin, below.

I enjoy sports and find myself playing basketball and pickleball mostly in my spare time. I also enjoy coaching baseball and basketball at TREC.

SHAWN’S FOCUS

INFRASTRUCTURE & DRAINAGE

Prioritize Repairs

Our city deserves roads that are free of defects. There are so many potholes throughout the city, especially on our main thoroughfares. As Mayor, I want to implement a road assessment and begin a plan to repair roads in order of priority. Every neighborhood deserves roads worthy of driving on.

Dangerous Intersections

Dangerous intersections affect many things: our safety, our insurance premiums, and our livelihood. As Mayor, I intend to look at these intersections and work to get them improved, whether through engineering, education, or enforcement.

Drainage Systems

It’s no secret we have drainage issues in Thibodaux, primarily because we are not proactive in attacking the problem. As Mayor, we will have a maintenance schedule to repair culverts and basins, clean out pipes, and keep debris and grass from overtaking our ditches.

TRANSPARENT & ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNMENT

Streamline City Services

You shouldn’t have to guess how to file for permits or need a degree when trying to navigate the process. As Mayor, I will look at our current system and take out unnecessary steps to help get you to your end goal faster.

Digital Dashboard

We will implement a digital dashboard on our website—a user-friendly dashboard where you can track where your tax dollars are going. It will include current and future projects, as well as updates on where we are in the process. You should see your money at work and know what is going on in your city.

Open-Door Policy
An open-door policy sounds good on paper. The Mayor should be accessible at all times. I have given my personal cell phone number out to everyone. Please use it. Feel free to call me if you need assistance with something. I do not want you to call the wrong department and get transferred three times, only to hang up the phone in aggravation.

The Mayor’s office will be easily accessible, and I will make time for any citizen’s concerns.

PUBLIC SAFETY & COMMUNITY

Public Safety
You should know my background by now. I have served in law enforcement for the past 18 years. Public safety is a priority to me. The Thibodaux Police Department is second to none when it comes to knowledge, training, and efficiency.

We will push to be community-driven in an effort to stop crime within each of our neighborhoods.

Visibility
Increased patrols in our neighborhoods are essential to bridging the gap between law enforcement and our communities. You will see more patrols in our neighborhoods under my leadership at City Hall.

With these promises comes the need to equip our police to effectively do the job. We will continue pursuing funding to keep our department ahead of crime trends.

INVESTING IN OUR FUTURE

As Mayor, I will personally donate four $500 scholarships each year to our amazing, young, local high school graduates. These scholarships will provide assistance to graduates attending Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College.

I am a proud graduate of Thibodaux High School, Fletcher, and Nicholls State. I graduated cum laude with my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Nicholls State. I am proud of what we have here, and I want to give back to promote it.

What Our Clients Say

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi.

…here’s what stood out the most: with our current mayor, you have to call an office or send an email just to try to reach someone. Shawn literally put his personal cell phone number directly into my phone and told me to call him if I ever have a concern—even in the middle of the night…

We need real change and true accountability in our town, and seeing this level of transparency and dedication makes me so excited for the future.

Shawn Snow has my vote for mayor!

—Elizabeth

Wow! What an impressive resume! This is the change the City of Thibodaux deserves…

Good luck sir and hopefully we will finally see local law enforcement agencies working together again in the future.

—Darryl

I met you today, and I wanted to say again how nice it was talking with you. I believe that you are really passionate about helping this city thrive.

You can count on my vote!

ENDORSED BY KEVIN CELESTIN

Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church of Thibodaux

I have had the privilege of knowing Shawn Snow for the past fifteen years, and during that time I have come to know him as a man of integrity, humility, and genuine servant leadership.

True servant leadership is not measured merely by titles or public recognition, but by a consistent commitment to serving others with honesty, compassion, and conviction. Shawn has demonstrated those qualities time and again. Whether serving our community, responding to the needs of citizens after hours, protecting our neighborhoods, or faithfully caring for his family, he has consistently put the needs of others before his own.

What impresses me most about Shawn is that his character remains the same whether he is in the public eye or behind the scenes. Shawn is a man of faith who is deeply committed to serving his local church, where he faithfully serves as a deacon. His faith has shaped the way he leads and serves others. He listens carefully, honors his commitments, treats people with respect, and consistently seeks what is best for our community. Those are qualities that cannot be manufactured during an election season—they have been evident throughout the many years I have known him.

As both a friend and a fellow member of this community, I am pleased to offer my wholehearted endorsement of Shawn Snow for Mayor of Thibodaux. I am confident he possesses the integrity, wisdom, and servant’s heart necessary to lead our city well. I believe he will work diligently for the good of every citizen and serve with honor.

It is my privilege to recommend him without reservation.
